2. Why is there no pressure on my coffee pressure gauge?
Super58 Leakage &Pressure Issues
Same 18g dose:
·Left:Overly coarse grind (visible large particles)prevents proper tamping-grounds exceed indicator line
·Right:Proper espresso grind(distinct tamping marks visible)- grounds properly below indicator line
Same 18g dose:
·Left:Overly coarse grind (visible large particles)prevents proper tamping-grounds exceed indicator line
·Right:Proper espresso grind(distinct tamping marks visible)- grounds properly below indicator line
Using Coarse Grounds:
Pressure fails to build or shows zero
Leakage occurs around edges

Using Proper Espresso Grind:
Achieves standard espresso pressure
No edge leakage observed
3. How does fresh coffee beans and ground coffee affect my extraction?
Freshly roasted coffee beans contain a large amount of gas. During the extraction process, these gases create resistance to the water. Coffee beans also release gas, especially ground coffee, which releases gas faster. Therefore, the longer the coffee beans are aged, the less gas they contain, and the less resistance they create to the water. This results in different extraction pressures and flow rates at different times for the same grind size and the same bean.
4. How does grind size affect extraction?
The pressure adjustment knob is used to adjust the coffee grind to an espresso-grade fineness. The knob is designed to stabilize the pressure. If the grind is too coarse and the pressure is not reached, the pressure gauge will not move, and adjusting the pressure knob will be useless.
You need to finely grind the grounds to reach the desired pressure. If you still can't reach the desired pressure after fine grinding, check when the beans were opened. If they've been opened too long, the freshness and flow rate can also cause a lack of pressure.
5. Does brewing coffee require 9 bar?
The finer the grounds, the higher the extraction rate, the higher the strength, and the higher the pressure gauge reading. Generally speaking, a 9 bar extraction pressure is recommended for a better strength and flavor for an espresso. The principle of this portable espresso machine is to break through the limitations of large home espresso machines and achieve a stable extraction pressure of around 9 bar. However, this requires the grounds to be sufficiently fine and fresh. However, not reaching the desired pressure doesn't mean you can't drink it; it just means the flavor and extraction rate will be different. If you're not particularly focused on flavor, don't worry too much.
